Filmmaker Karan Johar has once again stepped into the spotlight for promoting star kids, this time welcoming Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, into Bollywood. Taking to Instagram, Johar introduced Ibrahim to the industry while sharing a heartfelt note reminiscing about his long-standing connection with the Khan family.

In his post, Karan fondly recalled meeting Amrita Singh at the age of 12, during her collaboration with Dharma Productions on the film Duniya. Praising her grace and warmth, he wrote, “She treated me like her own the second we met, and that was the power of her grace… which lives on through her and her children too!”

Karan also shared memories of his first encounter with Saif Ali Khan, describing him as “young, suave, charming & effortless,” qualities that he said Ibrahim reminded him of during their initial meeting.

The post was accompanied by a series of pictures of Ibrahim, showcasing him in a variety of looks, from a bare-bodied pose with a blanket to a stylish ensemble featuring a brown vest, red shirt, grey coat, and red pants.

Johar’s note continued with a nod to his decades-long friendship with the family, writing, “I know this family for 40 years… Films are in their blood, their genes, and their passion. We make way for a new wave of talent, one that I cannot wait for the world to see.” He concluded with the promise of Ibrahim’s debut in the upcoming Dharma Productions film Naadaniyaan, which will also star Khushi Kapoor.

As expected, Karan’s announcement drew sharp criticism online, with many accusing him of perpetuating nepotism. Comments flooded in, including:

“You will launch Taimur and Jeh also… uplifting the uplifted.”

“Karan Johar back at it, putting the capital N in Nepotism.”

“No talent required whatsoever! This is the resume..! Lab-grown body and connections with Karan Johar.”

Some fans expressed their dismay at yet another star kid entering Bollywood, calling Ibrahim “another nepo baby.”

Ibrahim is the younger brother of Sara Ali Khan, who has already carved her space in Bollywood. He is the son of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, with Saif now married to Kareena Kapoor Khan. Saif and Kareena share two more children, Taimur Ali Khan and Jeh Ali Khan, both of whom are already media favourites.

Despite the criticism, Ibrahim’s debut marks the beginning of another chapter in the star-studded family’s Bollywood journey. Whether he can rise above the nepotism discourse and prove his merit remains to be seen.
