As rumours swirl about Priyanka Chopra Jonas potentially starring in SS Rajamouli’s next film, the global icon has opened up about her views on the future of cinema amidst the rise of OTT platforms. While fans eagerly await official confirmation of her return to Indian films, Chopra is gearing up for the next season of Citadel.

In a candid conversation, the 42-year-old reflected on the ongoing debate about the survival of theatres in the face of OTT’s growing dominance. “I think that both, the big screen and OTT, are incredible to have! We’re living in an incredible time where we can access entertainment in every way possible, 24/7,” she said, celebrating the diversity in content consumption.

Chopra, however, remains steadfast in her belief that cinema holds a unique charm. “The big screen experience will always be special. There’s nothing quite like entering a darkened theatre and watching a movie, not just with friends and family, but with a room full of strangers, all connected by the viewing experience. The big screen’s scale, sound, and immersive atmosphere make it a truly magical experience. I don’t think the magic of movie theatres will ever fade,” she affirmed.

Her passion for cinema extends beyond acting, with her co-production of the Marathi film Paani demonstrating her commitment to Indian storytelling. Chopra also noted how advancements in technology continue to elevate the theatre experience. “From 3D to IMAX, and now immersive audio, there is continued innovation in the theatre experience that will keep bringing people back,” she explained.
