Among the distinguished guests was the wife of the late actor Puneeth Kumar and one of Karnataka’s most celebrated women, alongside philanthropist Ms Asha Patil, both of whom travelled from India especially for the occasion. They were welcomed to the sound of traditional drums and honoured by Mr Sunil Kumar Ramachandra and Mr Shashidhara Ramachandra, directors of Laughing Water Entertainment. The evening brought together the South Asian diaspora, with the UK Kannada community in particular expressing immense pride at the series being showcased on such a global stage.

The premiere featured a range of cultural highlights, including a performance by a Kathakali dancer in full traditional costume, Indian drum ensembles, a London taxi emblazoned with the film’s poster, and personalised touches for guests such as barfi and goody bags.

Written, directed by and starring Rishab Shetty, alongside Rukhmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah and Jayaram in key roles, the film takes audiences back to the 4th century AD. It explores the sacred origins of the mystical land of Kantara and Kaadubettu Shiva during the Kadamba dynasty. Building on the mythology and divine conflicts introduced in the first film, this chapter offers a deeper, more immersive cinematic journey with breathtaking action and soul-stirring music.

Speaking after the screening, Ms Ashwini Puneeth Kumar praised the film, saying: “It exceeded my expectations. I think it’s just brilliant. Rishab’s performance was extraordinary. The action sequences and visuals were fantastic. Thanks to Hombale Productions for giving us such a great movie.”
