The 88-year-old, who was also known by many as Bradford Jesus Man, was taken ill on Thursday, August 13, at his home in Baildon where he fell down the stairs.

Following the incident, he was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary after suffering from a stroke.

Unfortunately, Geoffrey Brindley passed away peacefully at 2.30am on Monday.

Mr Brindley was a local icon in the Bradford district, where he was regularly spotted walking the streets in a brown robe and sandals, with a satchel around his neck.

A spokesperson for Bradford Coroner’s Office said :”No funeral arrangements have been put in place as of yet. We are urging for relatives of Geoffrey Brindley to come forward first before anything can be arranged.”

A book of condolence has been set up at Bradford Cathedral for people to leave their tributes.
