Gauri is here to blow your minds!
The mind-blowing and powerful trailer for ”Taali” was recently release by Jio Studios.
The trailer opens up with a boy who dreams of being a mother, only to have his dream shattered and ridiculed by society. The boy, named Ganesh, from the pressure of society, joins the transgender community and identities as ”Gauri” (played by Sushmita Sen)
Dealing with the struggles of having a ‘third gender’, Gauri will make it her mission to get herself and many like herself recognised and respected. The influential journey of Gauri as she begins the journey of self-discovery and transgender rights will leave you feeling awe.
Gauri, takes it upon herself to stand up for the transgender community and files a petition in Supreme Court for equal rights for transgender. From being neglected as a child to having the support of thousands of people, Gauri’s story in the trailer seem promising.
One dialogue that in particularly struck me was when a reporter asks Gauri:
”How important is it for transgenders to have legal rights?”
to which Gauri confidently answers:
”Equivalent for a child to have a mother”
Brilliantly put-together with an outstanding storyline, one can’t help but feel over-whelmed by this trailer
Streaming on 15 August on Jio Cinema, this might be the best Independence Day gift of the year!
