Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is swinging into the Marvel universe, joining Tom Holland in the eagerly awaited Spider-Man 4.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, best known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings the film is set to hit cinemas on 31 July 2026, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

While details about Sink’s character are tightly under wraps, that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating. Many are already imagining her as iconic comic book characters like Mary Jane Watson, Firestar, or even a fresh take on Jean Grey.

Holland teased the upcoming project last year, hinting at a bold new direction for the franchise. “The idea is crazy. It’s a little different from anything we’ve done before, but I think the fans are gonna really respond to it,” he shared on Good Morning America.

His last outing as Spider-Man in 2021’s No Way Home shattered box office records, pulling in over £1.5 billion worldwide and uniting beloved characters from the Spider-Verse.

As for Sink, this casting marks a major leap from Hawkins to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With Stranger Things wrapping up soon, she’s also set to star in Searchlight’s O’Dessa and the Broadway play John Proctor Is the Villain.

Online, fans are already buzzing with excitement:

“Fingers crossed she’s Firestar!”
“Possibly Jean Grey??”
“WE WIN SO BAD-THIS IS HUGE.”
“She would make an amazing Mary Jane!!”
