Salman Khan and Atlee’s highly anticipated pan-India blockbuster has reportedly been put on hold due to scheduling conflicts and casting roadblocks.

The ambitious action-packed project  rumoured to be mounted on a staggering Rs 650 crore budget was set to feature two powerhouse stars from Bollywood and the South to appeal to a wider audience. While Salman Khan was locked in to lead the film, the makers were eyeing Tamil cinema legends Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth to play his father in the film.

According to reports, discussions with both superstars stretched over six months, but neither collaboration materialised.

A source revealed:
“Atlee and Sun Pictures were confident about bringing either Kamal Haasan or Rajinikanth on board. However, Kamal Haasan wasn’t fully convinced about playing Salman’s father, while Rajinikanth’s packed schedule with Coolie and Jailer 2 left no room for additional projects until 2026.”

With no other senior superstar matching the star power and box office pull of Rajinikanth or Kamal Haasan, the makers have hit a roadblock in finalising the film’s casting.

The film is now on indefinite hold, leaving fans disappointed after months of mounting buzz.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan will next be seen in Sikandar alongside Rashmika Mandanna, set to release this Eid.
