For a track that was recorded way back in January it has been Sam Smith’s top secret mission to keep everything hush hush up until now.
Earlier today it was revealed that Sam has recorded the song for the new James Bond film Spectre.
The news about the new single was revealed on Twitter earlier this morning on the James Bond Twitter feed.
“The title track for #SPECTRE, ‘Writing’s On The Wall’, has been recorded by @samsmithworld”
Smith said: “This is one of the highlights of my career.”
“I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations.”
Sam Smith even confessed to Nick Grimshaw that it’s the quickest he’s ever written a song – it took 20 minutes.
