During his Friday night concert at the O2 Arena in London, Punjabi singer and rapper, Karan Aujla was forced to come to an abrupt halt, mid-concert, following an assault by a shoe.

In a video posted by on X, we see a shoe being thrown onto the stage by a fan in the crowd and hitting Karan, with a degree of force, in the face.

Following this assault, Karan proceeds to briefly stop his show to pick up the shoe and call out the person one-to-one to come out onto the stage.

He went on to address the crowd as he tries to search for the individual, saying “was it you… what are you trying to do dog?”.

Despite initially erupting in anger, Karan says later in the video, “come on please, I don’t want to say anything wrong” in an attempt to pacify the crowd and also settle the matter.

The video ends with Karan saying to “be respectful”, issuing a stern warning to eager fans to always be mindful when going to concerts.

The onstage attacks on singers’ mid-way through their performances is nothing new and has been an ongoing issue in the entertainment industry for some time.

In August 2023, singer and rapper, Cardi B was attacked by a drink thrown by an audience member at her gig in Las Vegas. Some cases have been even more bizarre to the extent that human ashes have been thrown onto the stage, as was the case during singer, Pink’s concert in June 2023.

From human ashes to drinks, and now to shoes, the list of objects that have been thrown at performers continues to grow and it is apparent that the number of incidents where performers have been attacked by flying objects thrown onto the stage by fans, is a persistent problem.

Karan Aujla is one of the biggest stars to hail from the Indian subcontinent and now the latest target of overly eager fan’s ‘thrown objects’ trend.

This recent performance at the O2 London arena is part of his It was All a Dream World Tour, where he will be heading to Australia and New Zealand in October, following his performances across the UK.

It is assumed that greater security measures will be put into place following this recent shoe attack.
