Sony Pictures has officially announced the cast for the upcoming Anaconda reboot, featuring Jack Black, Paul Rudd, and Selton Mello. In a fun-filled clip posted on YouTube by Sony Pictures India, Jack Black takes the lead, belting out a song while introducing the star-studded cast. Alongside him, Paul Rudd bangs the bongos, and Selton Mello strums the guitar, as they all join in on the quirky song that introduces the movie’s cast members.

Directed by Tom Gormican, Anaconda also stars Thandiwe Newton, Steve Zahn, and Daniela Melchior in pivotal roles. The song, sung by Black, sets the tone for the film with its playful lyrics: “We gotta kill that snake… and we are going to break its neck and cook it on a stove. And when we bring that snake back home, we are going to have ourselves a moving!” Thandiwe Newton can be seen cheering on the group in the video.

The film is set to release on 25 December, 2025, during the Christmas holiday season. The announcement was made by Black and Rudd in December 2024, where they showcased their dynamic chemistry in a promo video. The duo revealed the movie’s release date, confirming their collaboration in the serpentine adventure.

Helmed by Tom Gormican, known for directing The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, the film is written by Gormican and Kevin Etten. While plot details remain under wraps, Black teased that the film would feature a massive, menacing snake, promising plenty of action and suspense. “It’s gonna be a big f***ing snake, and it’s gonna rip!” Black said.

Rudd, adding his signature humour, assured fans the film would cater to a wide range of emotions. “You wanna get scared? You wanna laugh? You wanna celebrate with your friends? Or maybe you’re alone and sad and have nobody, but just wanna forget about that? It’s coming out on Christmas in 2025,” he quipped.

As the excitement for this thrilling reboot builds, fans can expect a combination of suspense, laughs, and, of course, a giant snake come Christmas 2025.
