Sergio Aguero confirms retirement from football after confirming an irregular heartbeat which has made the Argentinian focus on his health and retire from professional football.

Aguero started his dream of becoming a footballer at a very young age as he explains, the moment he touched the ball with his feet he knew he wanted to become a professional footballer.

He went on to play in the lower leagues but joined the La-liga division in 2006 after being bought by Atletico Madrid for 33m euros. Aguero played for Atletico until 2011 when he was purchased by Manchester City for £35m.

At his time in Manchester City, he won 5 league titles including scoring a last minute goal in the final league game to allow the club to win their first league in 44 years.

Recently, Aguero joined Barcelona on the 31 May to join once again the La-liga but to play for Barcelona. The Argentinian was bought by the well-renowned football club for $100m where he was playing recently until falling ill.

In a game he just played in October, Aguero started having chest pains and was sent to the hospital. Doctors confirmed he wasn’t in shape to play despite physically looking okay and was ruled out for 3 months.

Aguero has now moments ago confirmed his retirement from professional football as he expresses in a conference amongst the press.

He explained, “I’m very proud of the career I had, I’m very happy. I’ve dreamt of playing football since I was five years old.

“When I first touched the ball, my dream was to play in a top division. I never thought I would get in Europe. So I want to show my gratitude to everyone”.

After wiping his tears, a teary Aguero said, “I want to show my gratitude to everyone.

“To Atletico Madrid, who took a bet on me when I was just 18 years old. They took a gamble on me that I could do things in Europe”.

After thanking his family, friends and all the fans across the world he ends with explaining how he is thankful to his native country Argentina for everything.

Considered as one of the best strikers in premier league history, it’s sad to see a player like Aguero go. Football fans across social media have sent lots of love and praise on Aguero who has made the right decision to put his health first.
