Vijay’s upcoming film ‘Thalapathy 65’ has finally cast itself a female lead. Pooja Hegde has been confirmed as the star of the film. This will mark Hegde’s first return to Tamil cinema since her 2012 debut, ‘Mugamoodi’.

The makers of the film took to Twitter to confirm the news.

“The gorgeous @hegdepooja onboard as the female lead of #Thalapathy65!” read the tweet, alongside a brief announcement video.

Hegde is no stranger to an action film. The actor has previously featured in ‘Mohenjo’ alongside Hrithik Roshan, as well as appearing in the 2018 film ‘Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava’. Currently, the actress has two films ready to release: ‘Most Eligible Bachelor’ and ‘Radhe Shyam’ in which she will star opposite Prabhas.

‘Thalapathy 65’ will see megastar Vijay starring as an action hero. The project is being directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Shooting for the film is set to begin in April and will run until June.
