Controversial Leeds owner Massimo Cellino has said that he is willing to sell the club to the Leeds Fans United. Cellino who was a former owner of Italian side Cagliari has been involved in controversy ever since he took over the West Yorkshire club.
Under his chairmanship, Leeds have been very unsettled on the pitch. To highlight the issue, the Italian has hired six different managers during his controversial time in charge at the Elland Road club.
Cellino has stated his desire to sell after the Football League banned him from running Leeds United for the second time. Massimo Cellino added that he would sell his stake ‘without making a profit’.
Whatever happens with Leeds United, one would hope that the Leeds’ chairmen decision to sell will help bring stability on the field for the West Yorkshire club. If indeed the deal does go through for Leeds to be fan owned, Leeds United will be the highest placed club in England to be fan owned.
