Unveiling its biggest slate to date in India, Amazon Prime Video has announced, at its maiden Prime Video Present India showcase in Mumbai, over forty new titles, in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu will be launched over the next 24 months.
They will be set to bring the best and latest movies to consumers across languages.
Hosted by actors Abhishek Bachchan and Sumukhi Suresh, it was revealed Prime will foray into original movie production in India to be released directly on the service, more than doubling its investment in India over the next five years.

From cutting edge thrillers, high octane action, and engaging dramas to light hearted comedies and heart-warming romances.
The upcoming Amazon Originals will grip customers by offering a range of genres.
For the first time in its India journey, the service will be exploring programmes and genres for a young adult audience.
Amazon Prime Video’s VP International, Kelly Day commented, “India is leading the way for us. It Is our fastest-growing market and represents some of our most engaged consumers as well”
Amazon also launched Prime Video Store, a transactional video-on-demand movie rental service in India.
Customers will get early access to the latest international movies, including a rich catalogue of popular movies from around the world.
“India is truly an innovation hub for us and is the first market where we rolled out a mobile-only service,” continues Kelly.
Prime Video is collaborating with diverse creators and cinematic voices from across the country. Their aim, according to Kelly, is to be a home for talent.
Almost 70% of the new upcoming titles will feature new talent, in front and behind the camera.
Amazon Prime Video India, country head, Gaurav Gandhi comments “in the last five years, we have built a strong side of a slate of locally produced content across languages, super serving the diverse entertainment needs of Indian Customers”.

Speaking about expanding the movies segment in India, Gaurav added “In tune with our vision to become the most loved entertainment hub, we have steadily innovated in the way we offer movies to our consumers”.
Prime Video will be enhancing the scope of its unscripted series to explore genres like biographies, true crime, and investigative docudramas.

Many titles announced will star actors Kritika Kamra, Shahid Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty, Kishore, Aadhi Pinisetty, Aishwarya Rajesh and many more. Prime Video has also teamed up with Ajay Devgn FFilms, Dharma Productions, Excel Entertainment and Yash Raj Films for upcoming films including Bhola, Phone Bhoot, Tiger 3 and more
