The heat is rising—both in Jhansi and on social media—as Border 2 officially marches forward in production. On Monday, the film’s team treated fans to an exciting behind-the-scenes glimpse straight from the rugged landscapes of Jhansi, featuring none other than the Dhai Kilo Ka Haath himself, Sunny Deol, alongside Varun Dhawan.
In the now-viral image, Sunny and Varun sit atop a tank, looking every bit the war heroes they’re set to portray, joined by producers Bhushan Kumar, Nidhi Dutta, co-producer Shiv Chanana, Binoy Gandhi, and director Anurag Singh.
The official caption hyped up the upcoming war drama: “Action, legacy, and patriotism! #SunnyDeol on the sets of #Border2 in the rugged cantonment of Jhansi, alongside #VarunDhawan, Producer #BhushanKumar, #NidhiDutta, co-producer #ShivChanana, #BinoyGandhi, & director #AnuragSingh. January 23, 2026, gear up for a saga of valour and sacrifice.”
Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan kept it short and sweet, sharing a picture with Sunny Deol and captioning it, “Sunny days. Hamara saab ji. #Border2 #IndianArmy Jan 2026.”
With Ahan Shetty and Diljit Dosanjh also joining the action, Border 2 is shaping up to be a massive spectacle. While the original Border (1997) immortalised the Battle of Longewala, its sequel is set against the backdrop of the Kargil War of 1999—a defining moment in Indian military history.
The original Border, directed by JP Dutta, was an emotional rollercoaster packed with patriotism, featuring an ensemble cast of Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Akshaye Khanna, and more. Now, Border 2, presented by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series in association with JP Dutta’s J.P. Films, aims to carry that legacy forward.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, Border 2 is set to hit cinemas on 23 January, 2026—just in time to stir up patriotic fervour ahead of Republic Day.
So, mark your calendars, because this war drama is not just bringing the action—it’s bringing the Deol-powered destruction along with it!
